Gifting Dip: Jar Label Tutorial

I knew right away I wanted to make a label that had a peep-through window for some of the food items this month. I know we'll be using fabric for other gifts, and thought this is a good way to make it matchy-matchy :)

The recipe for Michigan Caviar can be found at week of menus and i really do urge you to try making it. i GUARANTEE that your family will eat it up quickly! makes a great gift and easy to take to potlucks as well. This recipe doubles and triples very nicely :)

Here's what you need to make this type of label:
Cardstock
Scissors
Corner Rounder (punch- optional)
5/8" hole punch
1" hole punch
fabric scraps
adhesive (i used Dotto)
stronger adhesive (i used a xyron, but you can also use spray glue- i LOVE 3M's Super 77)
jar- label taken off

Print this pdf (click here)
i created 2 sizes for the template, since the size of your jars may be different.

Cut out the labels, round the corners if you have that type of punch. Then punch out the circles. (1" and 5/8")
Cut the scraps of fabric, making them slightly larger than the circle they will be covering.
Roll on some light adhesive to the back of the cardstock, and attach the fabric print side down.
here's a close up of the Dotto
Roll your finished labels through the Xyron OR spray permanent adhesive to the back of the labels and attach to the jar.

** It's better to fill the jar with food and wipe it clean BEFORE putting the labels on **
any shape can be used and colored paper or scrapbooking paper can be used instead of fabric, too. whatever you have on hand!

this is a great way to use up old jars, it dresses them up pretty!
