quick & easy favors

a close friend is having a baby boy (future buddy for my #2. and yes, still no blog name for him) so we showered her on saturday...

but since i am limited in time (and energy) lately, i had prepared the tags for her favors pre-#2 and decided on a quick and easy favor for 20 people.

originally, i was going to make some sort of caramel coated snack but then i changed my mind to make these truffles (while they were easy, making enough for 20 goodie bags would have taken awhile!)
finally, pressed for time, i opted to buy little snacks for the favor bags.

all you need for to assemble these are:
favor bags
ribbon
hole punch (smaller than the typical office sized one)
cardstock (printed with a message)
snacks

what i did:
:: laid out some yogurt pretzels from trader joe's ::

:: melted some of this candy ::

:: drizzled it over the pretzels to give them some color ::

:: filled the bags, attached the cards with ribbon and all done! ::

fast, pretty and yummy :)

candles

i think i like to collect candles...

and not the kind that you put on a stand or in a votive or in a hurricane...

but the kind that you put on a cake or cupcake...

because i don't purposely search out candles and buy them...

but i just happen to have a few that i really like.

(i just found my stash in my kitchen and dresser- where i was hiding the last one to be used for the husband's bday. which they weren't. so i'll save them for when i turn 35. ha ha)

school harvest festival

today we took sillie to school to participate in the harvest festival.

can you tell what the husband's alma mater is?! this outfit was bought not with the intention of being a halloween costume, but just to have- for pictures. (bought last year on a trip to Berkeley)
but since we couldn't find a costume we liked....we had sillie wear this. :)
(here she is with her teachers)
we're also figuring out that she is super shy....mute...when a lot of people are around. SO not like her behavior at home!

sharing

her version of sharing:
she gets to lay down and play with his toy and she lets him play with her dinosaur.

happy friday!!

sticker Matching

like most toddlers, Sillie loves (and is distracted by) stickers.

so i made a little craft for her that allows her to color some pages, sort some stickers, and then stick them onto the coloring page (2 part craft)

*this craft takes a little bit of preparation*

to save you some time, i'm linking copies of what i used for Sillie. All you have to do is cut out the stickers page, and either glue them on or print onto full sheet labels (your toddler will probably need help separating the paper from the sticker, since full sheet labels are a little difficult to work with) I just pull the backing off the entire sheet and then cut the stickers out. An older toddler might like working with the glue stick instead.

:: coloring pages :: 4 pages

:: sticker sheets :: 2 pages

i spread this craft over a couple of days. enjoy!

the shop

is closed... in case you didn't know :)

not sure when i'll re-open, but i'm thinking after i mail out the birth announcements, and get a handle on #2's sleeping schedule. i have so many things i want to finish, but just don't have the energy to!

i also noticed, my links don't work - for my downloadables. so i'm trying out google docs. let me know what you think of it...

first time out

just the 4 of us. with 2 strollers. whoa... seemed chaotic, but since it's our first time, it actually was not that bad!

i packed everything up in about 10 minutes, including dinner for Sillie! went to the Grove to hang out, throw some money in the water, and do some returns.

:: water! ::

:: just like umma ::
on another note, is it weird if my 3 week old son can already flip over? because he's done it once in front of me, and the husband and i have seen him trying to many times....i guess cuz maybe he's so light?
